Put Your Tools Back Where They Belong
Imagine you’re putting up a curtain rod in your house. For this, you’ll need a drill and a level unless you’re really good at eyeballing straight lines. Hopefully, you have a place where you keep your tools so you can quickly access your drill and level. After you’ve finished putting up the rod, you put them back where they came from.
But what if you carried the level around with you to make sure that everything you see is straight? You check everything in your house with the level, including your bed after you make it in the morning. Pretty soon, you start feeling worried if you haven’t used the level and you still have the urge to straighten everything.

Let’s flash back to the years 1999/2000. I’m working in a private bank, watching the dot-com businesses suck up lots of money. I personally have been on the ‘net since I graduated college in ‘95 (yeah I’m old), primarily on the bulletin boards which functioned as chatboards. Using the keyboard to type emojis, listening to the robots scream when you use your dial-up modem.
I’m noticing that some of these businesses are stupid.

Everyone wants to talk about AI – I get it, it’s the sexiest new thing! As a productivity expert, I often have people asking me if it will help them in their business.
Smart Ways to Think About AI in Your Business
As with most technology, there are pros and cons to working with AI. I don’t think ignoring it is a great idea, because it definitely has some helpful applications for entrepreneurs. It may also be coming to disrupt your industry sooner rather than later.
That makes now a good time to think about what you can reasonably use it for, how it can help your business in a sustainable way, and what parts of your business might it take over.
